Emberglow

Flame Diffuser

Fire without the fire.
Cold to the touch.

An amber flame rises out of a matte capsule and moves like the real thing — because it is mist, lit from below. No combustion. No smoke. No alarm going off at midnight. Just the oldest signal there is, telling the room the day is over.

The problem nobody names

11:00 PM

Your room is still
lit like an office.

Overheads at full blast. Screen still burning a hole in your retina. Your body has no reason to believe the day ended — because nothing in the room told it so.

Fire has carried that message for forty thousand years. Emberglow hands it back to people with a lease, a smoke alarm and no chimney. One tap, and the light in the room changes register.

After dark

Four things nobody copies well

Built like hi-fi.
Behaves like a candle.

A flame you can put your hand through

Ultrasonic mist lit from underneath by warm amber LEDs. It licks, leans and flickers with real turbulence — and it is cooler than the air around it. Nothing burns. Nothing to blow out.

Zero combustion · zero smoke

A fluted plinth, not a plastic pebble

Matte soft-touch shell above, tight horizontal ribbing below, a hairline shadow gap between. In lamplight it reads ceramic. People ask what it is before they ask what it does.

Logo-free · debossed glyph only

Quieter than your own breathing

No fan, no pump, no gurgle. A piezo disc vibrating faster than you can hear keeps it under 25 dB — which is why it runs all night beside your head without entering the conversation.

8+ hours on one fill

Three drops runs the whole room

The droplet is fine enough to hang in the air instead of falling out of it, so a few drops carry across a bedroom for hours. Cedar in winter. Eucalyptus when you're blocked up. Nothing at all if you only want the light.

Oil-ready · runs on plain water too

Detail pass

Watch the mist stop pretending to be mist.

Cheap units push a straight white column. This one throws an uneven, leaning, self-correcting plume — which is exactly why the eye reads it as fire and not as a humidifier with a bulb in it.

Mist · close
Hand test

The only demo that matters

Put your hand in it.

Nothing
happens.

That is the whole argument. Everything a candle gives you, minus everything a candle costs you.

Setup · 40 seconds

Out of the box to lit

Three moves.
Forty seconds.

1

Fill to the line

Cool water through the top aperture, stopping at the max mark. Filtered or distilled if your tap runs hard — it keeps the disc clean.

2

Three drops of oil

Water first, oil second. Actual essential oil only — cologne and fragrance oil chew through the seal.

3

Tap, then kill the overheads

Mist on the first key, flame mode on the second. Turn everything else off and let the room do the rest.

Straight answers, including the unflattering ones

Ask the awkward stuff.

No flame, no heat, no fuel — cool mist with amber light behind it, which is why a hand passes straight through. Keep it on a flat surface away from anything that hates water and treat it like any plugged-in device, not like a candle.

The one way to make it leak is to overfill it. Past the max line the water has nowhere to sit and the ultrasonic disc cannot vibrate properly, so you get seepage and weak mist at once. Fill to the line, carry it to the table rather than filling it in place, and it stays dry. Anything that leaks out of the box is a replacement, not a debate.

In bright daylight, yes — you will mostly see mist, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. This is a night object, engineered for low light, the same way nobody lights a candle at noon and calls it disappointing. Draw the curtains or wait for evening and the illusion is hard to argue with.

Bedroom, office, bathroom, reading corner — comfortably, on three to five drops. An open-plan living-dining space is asking too much of a 200 ml tank, and any brand claiming otherwise is setting you up to be annoyed. Ambience first, scent second. That order is deliberate.

That is what it is for. Under 25 dB, no fan, and a smart chip that cuts power the second the tank empties — so the worst case at 4am is that it is simply off. On low output it will still be going when you wake up.

The killer in this category is limescale, not build quality. Empty it when it sits unused, wipe the tank every few days, and once a month clean the disc with a fifty-fifty water and white vinegar mix on a cotton bud. Use distilled water if your area is hard. Covered for a year regardless.

Dispatched within 24 hours on business days, tracking sent the moment it leaves. Live with it for 30 nights and send it back for a full refund if your evenings do not feel different. It runs off USB with no internal battery, so use a 5V/2A adapter rather than an old low-output phone plug — underpowering it is the most common cause of weak mist.
